About Me - Luiza Rotariu

I am Luiza Rotariu, a coach for stepmothers and an advocate for blended families. With almost 12 years of experience as a stepmother and over 15 years as a people manager, I have a deep understanding of the challenges and joys of a blended family.

My journey began when I fell in love not only with my partner but also with his sensitive side as a father. I realized that being a stepmother is a blessing, not a burden. Although I faced challenges in managing time, budget, and priorities, I learned that by putting the child first, many problems are resolved on their own.

The greatest challenge did not come from within our family but from the outside. I faced prejudice, intrusive questions, and unfair judgments from society.
This experience motivated me to become an ambassador for stepmothers and blended families in Romania.

My mission is to shed light on the synergy of a blended family and to combat the social stigma associated with these families. I firmly believe that when children live in a healthy environment, with the support of both parents, even if separated, they will understand that separation is not a failure and that blended families can offer access to more cultural resources and traditions.

I prefer the term 'side-parenting' or 'adjacent parent' instead of 'stepmother'. We are not here to replace, but to complement and support

My Purpose

Welcome to my world, a world full of love, challenges and continuous growth. I'm Luiza, and my story as a stepmother began as an unexpected journey, one that turned out to be the most beautiful gift life has given me.

A few years ago, when I first stepped into the role of stepmother, I felt overwhelmed. It was unknown territory, full of unanswered questions and unspoken fears. I remember desperately searching for a shoulder to lean on, a voice to tell me "I know exactly what you're going through. And yes, it will be okay."

This experience changed me profoundly. From the need to find answers and support, I created what I wished I had found myself at the beginning: the Romanian Stepmothers' Community. A safe place, full of warmth and understanding, where we can be ourselves without fear of being judged.

On this journey, I discovered that my values are the compass that guides me every day:

Integrity helps me stay true to the promises I make, both to myself and to my loved ones. Empathy opens my heart to others' experiences and emotions, allowing me to build bridges of understanding. Courage pushes me out of my comfort zone and to have difficult but necessary conversations. Continuous development motivates me to learn, grow and adapt, because each day brings new lessons in family life.

People around me often say that I am a source of motivation and positivity. I see myself as someone who always finds the right words to encourage and lift others' spirits. It seems I have the gift of seeing the potential and goodness in every person, even in difficult moments.

My adaptability helped me navigate the sometimes turbulent waters of blended family life. I learned to be flexible, to find creative solutions and to turn challenges into opportunities for growth.

What I value most is the trust people place in me. The fact that they come to me for advice, to share their joys, or to find peace in moments of doubt deeply honors me and motivates me to continue this mission..
